The IDCF claim they’re the only reason progressive legislation passes in the Senate.
Listen, we’ve got a long list of great legislation passed in the Democrat-controlled Assembly that died in the Senate, because the IDCF empowered the Republicans. Here are a few of their prime failures. (click here for the bills that were killed in the Senate)
The IDCF and Republicans owe New York kids 3.9 billion dollars.
All people are created equal? Not in New York State schools.
Wealthier districts spend up to $30,000 more per student.
We have a system in place to fix this. It’s called the Foundation Aid Formula and parents won it in a court case. Although the state froze funding in the Recession, it could have paid in full any time since 2012 – but hasn’t.
The Republicans just refused to pay up again in a vote. The IDC ducked
the vote altogether, and it’s their existence that allows
the Republicans to keep shortchanging us.

Cuomo hijacked the MTA, and the IDCF helped him.
Have you noticed the MTA fare hikes? Did you see the Humans Of New York guy who has to choose between his commute and buying milk for his kid?
In 2015, Cuomo pledged $8.3 billion to the MTA. He only paid $1 billion.
And this year, he knocked an extra $65 million per year out of the MTA budget. So the MTA is forced to raise fares and cut services, and that hits riders in 12 NY counties.
Who signs off on Cuomo’s cuts? The IDCF’s Republican buddies.

Thought you were safe in New York?
From Politico, 2/7/17: A day after the Assembly passed legislation that would make New York a “sanctuary state,” Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan said supporters should not expect it to pass the Senate.
“No,” he said when asked if he was open to bringing it to the floor for a vote.
