Arthur Schwartz is a 39 year New York City civil rights and labor law attorney, who represents a number of major public sector unions, and has a long history of representing reform voices in the labor movement.

He is also President of Advocates for Justice, a public interest legal foundation which grew out of ACORN, which Arthur was General Counsel of until its demise. He was a founder of and serves on the Executive Committee of NYPAN, the NY Progressive Action Network, a membership organization with 29 chapters and 11 affiliates statewide. Arthur is also the Democratic District Leader for Greenwich Village, and has been for over 20 years, was counsel to the Bernie Sanders Campaign in NY in 2016, and a delegate to the Democratic National; Convention for Bernie Sanders in 2016 and Barack Obama in 2008, and was Treasurer for Zephyr Teachout’s campaign for Governor in 2014. He presently hosts a weekly radio show (from 5-6pm on Mondays) on WBAI, 99.5 FM called Advocating for Justice which features activists and progressive political figures.
